My Bazinga! A canadian Condo management startup has a social approach towards managing Condo’s and apartment complexes.
The Problem Statement
As we got involved with My Bazinga!, they had launched MVP and the code was as expected in a MVP, modules were there and were ready but couldn’t scale to expected load.
When going gets tough the tough get going, but they usually need some help.
My Bazinga! A canadian Condo management startup has a social approach towards managing Condo’s and apartment complexes. The software in builder and rental space is not mature. My Bazinga! tried to address problems right from connecting with real estate agent to moving into a complex. They have a suite of products each geared towards one aspect of business while keeping the end consumer in mind.
The real estate agent usually has a number of apartments at hand and the client has to visit them all while rejecting most of them. The details of amenities within the apartment and shared are not clearly called out with service requirements. My Bazinga! built an iOS app using which the apartment could be shown in real time to the buyer allowing them to reject or accept the ones they like saving time and effort.
Once however the user moves into an apartment they along with the condo board face both operational and social challenges such as booking an amenity like a gym or pool for a private party or finding people with shared interest in or near the community. Opportunities by service providers like plumbers or electricians are also hard to come by. The condo product essentially is the core service and is sold to builders to manage the condo’s and buildings.
Within the real estate business the opportunity is always present as people always need a shelter. Communities are offering more benefits and having software that allows them to run smoothly at the right price point is an essential factor for success.
My bazinga has launched a multi-tenant SAAS product suite to exploit these business opportunities.
As we got involved with My Bazinga!, they had launched MVP and the code was as expected in a MVP, modules were there and were ready but couldn’t scale to expected load.
The social feature and ability connect was particularly unable to meet business needs. Other issues existed around scaling the staff of developers to meet growing needs after the success of the MVP, in essence managing technology and immediate need for staff augmentation were slowing down progress and were on verge of losing valuable business opportunities.
We were engaged to address the staffing solution, our cost effective team quickly ramped up and took the bull by the horns. Code quality was improved while feature delivery continued. With greater confidence in our team’s ability to deliver we were further tasked with solving the inability of technology to meet certain business goals.
We employed an architect and identified that some of the technology choices were not inline with business needs. An RDBMS based solution would not solve the social problem. With gaps identified a Graph database was employed for some of the use cases giving business solutions as required.
Working with startups always have unique challenges, communication was a major hurdle on this with seven different nationalities on the project communicating on calls was a major hurdle and was resolved with chats and emails as understanding so many accents was virtually impossible.
Post our involvement the delivery was streamlined and business goals were met, a bi-monthly release schedule was established providing a quick turnaround time.
